School Visits at Ocean Lab

We offer school visits with activities tailored to meet specific needs or topics where required.

Sea Môr Aquarium

Sea Môr Aquarium

School groups can access our Sea Môr Aquarium with engaging tours for all ages led by one of our team! The aquarium is home to a variety of local marine creatures, representing the amazing diversity of life in our seas. Children can learn about ocean life and conservation, whilst getting up close to fantastic animals such as spider crabs and conger eels!

Seashore Safari

Seashore Safaris

We also have access to a fantastic natural classroom, Goodwick Sands. We lead school groups on Seashore Safaris, where they learn about rocky shore creatures, through getting hands-on! Groups get the opportunity to learn how to safely hold crabs and interact with the magnificent marine life we have on our shores. Our team are experts in finding interesting and unusual animals hidden in the rockpools!

Visit to your School

We can visit your school to run sessions on our local marine life and conservation! We offer school visits to all Key Stages, discussing topics such as our local marine life, threats to marine life, and food webs. These visits are tailored to the age group, including fun educational activities and engaging learning resources! School visits run all year, with limited availability for FREE sessions. Contact us for bookings, or to receive more information.

Book your school visit to Ocean Lab!

Aquarium visits and Seashore Safaris are available March – end of October.

Maximum of 15 participants per aquarium visit, however, we can accommodate more by splitting the group between a Seashore Safari and the Aquarium. Please contact us to discuss bookings of more than 15 to ensure we have extra staff available. Book a two-hour session including a Seashore Safari and Aquarium visit for £6 per person. Contact us to find out more information or to book your visit.

Marine Biology Club

We run a free weekly Marine Biology Club for budding marine biologists. The club is available for local 10–14 year olds, with two sessions running 3:30-4:30pm and 5-6pm. During the club, participants learn about local marine life through carrying out scientific surveys and getting hands-on in our aquarium!

We also run a Marine Biology Club for 15-16 year olds, which runs once per month from September. This costs £6/session.
